Check that box for Newman

The past four years as a 4J board director Judy Newman has provided not only leadership but also has applied her extensive experience in public education to identify problems and to find solutions to these problems. Whether it was dealing with standardized testing, equity concerns or budgetary challenges, Judy was in the forefront of seeking and implementing solutions to complex problems that will aid students, parents, staff and the community at large.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Judy for three decades in my role as a 4J speech and language specialist, as a member of 4J committees and as a former co-president of the Eugene Education Association. I’ve witnessed firsthand Judy’s many skills as an education leader and problem solver.

Judy’s re-election to the 4J Board of Directors is critical and I encourage you to mark your ballot for Judy Newman.

Merri Steele, former president Eugene Education Association teachers’ union
